Giants win
Well the New York Giants have come from behind to beat the New England Patriots 17-14 in SuperBowl XLII. Being a Giants fan I could not be happier about the result. A special mention must go out to Giants quarterback Eli Manning who through his fantastic performance won the game for the Giants.

poker night
Well last night we had our monthly poker night at Pat’s place. A good night was had by all (except Luke who was apparently sick and pulled out at the last moment), with drinking, poker, drunken tennis in the dark and watching movies being the most popular activities. We are all eagerly anticipating next months night which will no doubt be just as entertaining.
In other news, Uni starts soon which is a pretty major thing at the moment, and it will mean I have to get a job (a proper job I mean) in order to pay for the things I enjoy most (driving, drinking and buying things from JB Hi Fi).

and the week comes to a close
Well this week has probably been one of the more stressful weeks since I graduated from school, and I have found myself getting more and more ’short’ with people, dispensing with the usual customary politeness. I have even found myself barking at people despite the fact that they really have done nothing wrong. However some of the people have been deserving of it, since they can’t seem to comprehend the fact that I have a job to do and I want to get it done in the minimum time possible without wasting any more of my time. The good news though is that this time next week I will pretty much have two weeks of nothing before I am required again at Haileybury.
On another less bitchy note, Monash called me today to offer me a place at Clayton which I declined (since I’m at Caulfield and Clayton anyway), however it was good to know they cared

the cleanout
Over the last few days, I have been doing a ’spring clean’ (I’m well aware of the fact that it is summer). Basically we have been throwing anything that isn’t completely necessary which is pretty much everything. We have managed to fill a skip and then some full of junk collected over the last 15 years. Some items have included 3 computers, 2 fax machines, 2 printers, roughly 500 books, a couple thousand sheets of paper, old clothing, 100+ CD’s, walkmans, remote control cars, 3 gameboys + games and many other knick knacks. I’m amazed at the amount of junk that I/we have collected over the years.
In other news Pat got his probationary license after failing the first time (in the VicRoads carpark), so congratulations to Pat.

congratulations your account is now created
After receiving my Monash “enrolment” package I decided to begin the whole enrolment process. So after creating my Novell account I began to see if I could complete the rest of the enrolment process which unfortunately it seems like I can’t until tomorrow or something like that. In other news the Year 12 magazine seems to be going at a very slow pace with very little done over the last few days, I hope we can get a bit done today and over the next week before all the staff get here.

round one offers are out
Well today was the big day. So at 7:30pm I went to the closest ‘participating’ newsagent and bought the special edition paper which of course had the uni offers in it. Anyway I’m happy to announce that I received an offer for Arts at Monash University which is definitely a relief. I am very happy with my offer and over the next few days I will way it up with offers from Universities in NSW (which come out on Thursday I think). So I hope everyone is pleased with their offer and for all those that missed out I wish you luck in Round 2.

at least the hot weather is gone (for now)
Well my house is now a bearable temperature, and I must say it’s about time. There’s not a whole lot to tell you about since my last update, just been spending my time at Haileybury finishing off the Year 12 magazine (which is finally nearing completion). So after my 3 day weekend I will be heading yet again back to Haileybury for pretty much the week and will hopefully get this thing done and approved by end of January. Also uni offers come out tomorrow night (7:30pm) which shall be interesting, however I can guarantee that I wont bother to go out and buy a ’special edition’ of the paper tomorrow so I will probably find out on Tuesday, but I will keep you all ‘posted’.

a leisurely sunday lunch
After a extended absence, Luke and myself decided to catch up over a quick lunch and a movie. So we headed to Southland (TGI Friday’s) and then went and saw I Am Legend. The movie was better than I expected it to be and a lot shorter which I think is a good thing. I then headed home and washed my car (something I have not done for quite a few weeks, and don’t worry only tank water was used).
Anyway tomorrow I will be hopefully beginning to finish the Year 12 magazine and finally get that out the way, as well as some other stuff that needs to be taken care of. Also as someone pointed out today, Uni offers are just over a week away (I’ll finally find out where I’m spending the next 3 years of my life)

the end of my beachside holiday
Well my holiday down at Sorrento has finally ended and it marks pretty much the end of my ‘transitional’ break. I will over the next few weeks begin to get back into work mode and I will find myself down at Haileybury over the next couple of weeks finishing of the Year 12 magazine as well as some other little things. Well that’s all for now since my non air conditioned room will soon be approaching the 40 degree mark if my computer remains on, so I think I’ll go sit in front of the air conditioner for a while.

welcome 2008
Well 2007 has finally ended and what a year it has been. It amazes me just how fast 2007 went, it seems like it was only yesterday that I was recapping 2006. So here’s what happened in my life in 2007.
- Turned 18 (probably the biggest thing to happen)
- Subsequently went to Crown and a great time was had by all (you all know the story)
- Got my license (again a very big thing)
- Began, and successfully completed Year 12
- Graduated from Haileybury.
- Went to the Year 12 Formal
- My Great Grandmother passed away
- Had a fantastic year as a School Prefect and Vice Captain of Editorial
- Bought an iPod (who’d of thought!)
- Also bought a GPS (yeah I know it was only a couple of days ago but it was a highlight of 2007)
- Went to the Boxing Day Test
- Drastically improved this blog by getting a domain name, a host and moving it to the Wordpress platform
- Went to Sydney to visit my brother and see the city (twice)
- Went down to Phillip Island for ’schoolies’
- Saw the school play ‘Inheritance’
- Saw the school musical ‘Fame’
- Saw the Castlefield musical “A High School Musical” (Luke also went to see it as he “received” tickets for his birthday)
- Applied for University, and received my VCE results.
So that’s 2007 in review, I wish everyone a happy new year and I look forward to recapping what I hope will be a wonderful 2008.
