my new iphone
Since my phone contract was coming to and end, and the cheap interim phone I bought after my last one died was also starting to die I took the plunge and purchased a brand new iPhone. I must say it is an awesome phone, and is extremely easy to use. I ended up getting a 16GB Black for those who are wondering and I was actually amazed I could get my hands on one due to many people still waiting for theirs after stock ran out in July.
I’m also pleased to say that I haven’t been getting any of the reception problems that many people have been complaining about (I’m on Optus).
In other news I have been working, going to uni and working which has led to the lack of updates on my blog. But now things should be quietening down (well at work anyway, not at uni) so I shall hopefully have more time to spend on here!
Also the Haileybury Tattoo is over, it was a pretty good show but I still miss the old days where there was actual entertainment and not just lots of little kids on stage.

1 commentlong time no see
Today I met up with a mate that I haven’t seen in about 5 years, thats when I realised that I can sum up the last 5 years of my life in a 5 minute conversation. Anyway I’ve decided (since I’m extremely board) that I would sum up my last 5 years in my blog. So here goes,

- Went to Eildon camp
- My cat (Nelson) died
- Almost got expelled (beyond all reasonable doubt, I love that phrase)
- Had Mr. Clayton as class teacher
- Graduated from Middleschool

- Went to Central Australia (SA + NT)
- Went to Grampians
- Went on the Hospitality option (with Luke)
- Left my stupid campus
- Came to Senior School
- Had the Tattoo
- Spent a week at Castlefield
2005
- Started Year 10 (senior school)
- became part of Editorial
- Got my phone (Siemens SF65)
- Got my Camera
- Went to Hamilton Island
- Went overseas
- got my job
2006
- Started Year 11
- Had the Tattoo (20th Century- even decades)
- Had countless editorial things
- got my cat (Simba)
- Started my blog
- Began Year 12
- Became a Prefect
- quit my job
Well thats all I can think of for now, but I’ve pretty much had a boring couple of years.
2 commentsso much to do, so little time
Exams begin next week which I’m completely unprepared for however I’m not that worried as they are only Unit 2 subjects and Unit 3 & 4 Trial exams. I would have studied more if I simply did not have so much to do because as many of you know Haileybury has shortened the year by about six weeks, and in typical Haileybury style none of my teachers have planned for this from the beginning of the year and are now trying to cram six weeks of course work into one week which means that I’ve been doing outcomes, SAC’s, test, competency assesments, assignments, summaries and oral presentations pretty much every class of every day.
In other news I received my Drama colours on Tuesday due to my Tattoo contributions as well as for doing some things on Haileybury Online, Photos etc. On Saturday I’ll be at Olympic Park to take more photos of Athletics, I will then be heading down to MSAC to get some shots of Volleyball, which I stupidly promised Mr. Schneiders that I would do, anyway I hope you all enjoy your weekend.
2 commentsmemories of the show
Today I managed to grab the DVD’s of the closing nights for each campus for the Tattoo, I of course did not realise just how bad the Tattoo was, especially on DVD. I at least thought Castlefield’s show was alright, however the DVD proves me wrong.
Also Michael’s artsy camera angles look terrible, and the sound recording was shocking (you heard me).
1 commentthe final curtain falls
The Tattoo is over, after an incredibly boring closing night, however Panther’s comments over the headsets proved to be highly entertaining. Anyway today was very relaxing for me, I had lunch at Zanuba’s in Toorak and then went and bought some goodies from JB Hi Fi before heading home to finish some work. The equipment for the Tattoo is being taken away, and its goodbye to Johnny, Stu and hopefully the junior campuses until next time.
(By the the way if you are a real techie, you will have noticed that there is a huge flaw with my heading for this post)
No comments3 down, 3 to go
We’re now well into the Tattoo, with Castlefield having finished their Tattoo. We are now into Newlands, whom will have their final night tonight, it will then be onto Edrington. Anyway the Castlefield nights were pretty good, however the Newlands nights are very boring, however hopefully Edrington will be better. Anyway Luke is sitting here annoying me with some network cable while im attempting to do some IT work which I needs to catch up on because I’ve missed so much damn class. You can still buy tickets for the Tattoo if you want to see it, tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for concession.
2 commentsthe weekend
Well its finally Friday night and I deliberately didn’t plan anything so that I can finally relax. Anyway my weekend will be short lived, tomorrow I have to go to work to pick up some paperwork and then head back to school for 9:00am where I will spend a couple of hours taking photos. After photos I will of course head to the Aikman hall to help out there as quite a lot needs to be done tomorrow to be ready for Castlefields full dress rehearsal on Sunday (Don’t ask me why Castlefield are having a rehearsal on a Sunday) so I will virtually have no time to do anything except eat, sleep and of course “Tattoo” for the next week and a half.
No commentsthe storm approaches
The Tattoo looms ever closer and things are beginning to fall into place. Edrington rehearsed in the Aikman hall today, meaning that only Castlefield are left before the full dress rehearsals begin. We finally have some cameras in the hall to film everything, we will be using the Drama, Library and IT cameras, as well as one we borrowed off Newlands giving us four cameras which Panther seems happy about.
Tattoo commitments will take up most of my day tomorrow, and all of my weekend and of course all of next week, so hopefully I will be able to get some school work done on the way to and from school however this is unlikely. Tickets for the Tattoo are selling fast so grab them while you can, they’re $20 for adults and $12 for concession, call 9213 2222 to book your tickets.
No commentsdid someone mention the tattoo?
Senior School is eerily quiet with the buildings themselves preparing for the onslaught of Tattoo madness. I was rather busy today with Tattoo related things to sort out, I was down at Newlands three times today which is a good indicator as to how painful the other campuses are likely to be. The live feed equipment is working, and although it is not ’state of the art’ equipment they are reliable and fairly easy to use. Mr. Bell has finally decided on camera positions, he wants no more than three cameras, while Mr. Panther wants as many as he can get, so hopefully it can be all sorted out on Saturday or even Sunday at the latest.
Anyway if you have time the tattoo is definitely worth seeing, tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for concession, call 9213 2222, or 9213 2280
