the last of the teens
Well on Saturday I turned 19, which means this is my last year of being a teenager. So anyway on Saturday I had to work which is no big problem as things only get going at around Midnight. So after work I headed to Crown Casino and had a pretty good time, although I walked out slightly poorer than when I walked in. Pat managed to win money which is no surprise and money simply seems to fly toward him like he’s some sort of money magnet. So that was my birthday, also thanks to all those people that sent me messages on facebook, on my mobile etc. I will certainly try and remember to return the favour.
No commentsthe cleanout
Over the last few days, I have been doing a ’spring clean’ (I’m well aware of the fact that it is summer). Basically we have been throwing anything that isn’t completely necessary which is pretty much everything. We have managed to fill a skip and then some full of junk collected over the last 15 years. Some items have included 3 computers, 2 fax machines, 2 printers, roughly 500 books, a couple thousand sheets of paper, old clothing, 100+ CD’s, walkmans, remote control cars, 3 gameboys + games and many other knick knacks. I’m amazed at the amount of junk that I/we have collected over the years.
In other news Pat got his probationary license after failing the first time (in the VicRoads carpark), so congratulations to Pat.
4 commentsback from Phillip Island
Well I’m back from ‘the island’ and I must say I had a really good time. My days were taken up with swimming, sitting in front of the fire and basically doing not much at all. I was suprised with the amount of people from school that were down there, with two houses of Haileybury people just down the road from us. Some of the highlights were Lynton finishing of half a slab of VB for $5, Jimmy falling asleep on the road and Pat and his general hate of people.
After leaving Phillip Island yesterday I headed back to Pat’s place where I crashed the night and awoke early to head to Leadership Camp. The camp was alright and it was a good opportunity to brief some of the upcoming prefects. It also gave me an opportunity to catch up with some teachers and students alike. Of course my Haileybury days aren’t quite over yet with two more speech nights to go to this week, and then there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel.
No commentsthe simpsons movie and a night out
Last night, Lynton, Pat, James and Myself headed into the city to see the newly released Simpson’s movie. I must say it was far better than what I thought it would be and there were plenty of humorous moments throughout. After the movie Pat came up with the idea of going to China Town for dinner which ended up being a really good idea cause it was good food and cheap as well. We then spent about half an hour walking down to Salutis (on Collins St) to find it was closed so we then walked up Little Collins looking for a bar. We ended up finding “Harry’s Bar” which was good cause we were one of the only ones there and it was reasonably priced (and it was close to the hotel). After a couple rounds of beers and a martini we headed back to Victoria Hotel where we were spending the night. Lynton and James both went to sleep while Pat and myself did a Pizza/KFC run at 3:00am, I also got a free cappucino from the pizza place (you get one when you buy a medium pizza) and while I was drinking the cappucino we saw the people that worked in the store get in a fight with a guy that stole something. After getting the pizza we headed down to KFC to get some chips and I ended up standing in line for about 40 minutes which was ridiculous. All in all though it was a great night and wasn’t too hard on the wallet.
2 commentsyear 12 formal
Last night months of hard work finally paid off, with the Haileybury Year 12 Boys Formal. Overall it was a good night, with Dale the DJ providing some classics. A quick mention has to go to Pat who I think sat down for maybe a whole ten minutes throughout the night, he was absolutely crazy (and without drugs too!!). I ended up getting home at about 4:00am (after waiting 45 minutes for a taxi) after I got sick of the after party ( I was way too tired and Pat was boring). A very quick mention must also got to Mr. Fernandez and Mrs. Fraser-Jones who were doing some awesome dancing on the dance floor, however even they couldn’t compete with Pats moves.
3 commentsit’s good to be 3
As many of you are aware I lost my phone last Monday on the bus, and subsequently had to spend the whole week without a mobile (well I actually spent more on Pat’s mobile than what I usually do on mine). So yesterday I headed up to the Three shop with my parents and we signed up for the $29 Cap. So I now have a new phone, which is a Nokia 6288 and $130 worth of calls each month (plus an extra $70 dollars so I can talk to Pat and Luke who are both on 3). I’ve always been skeptical about Nokia’s but I must admit this is an awesome phone. Also in other news Zeya (the lost white fluffy dog) is now up in Sydney with my brother.

Well it turns out Pat has had a more exciting and painful weekend than me, he has got a dislocated knee and tonsillitis. Apparently a trailer fell on him when he was unloading it and was stuck under it for 20 minutes, he was then rushed to emergency where they performed not so life saving treatment.
(For those of you that have no medical knowledge, the Tonsillitis was not caused by the falling trailer).
