goodbye haileybury
Well today marked the last day that I will be at Haileybury for the Year 12 Magazine. Distribution has all been sorted out and now all I need to do is monitor me email for a few more weeks and rectify any problems via Groupwise. It’s great to be able to get it all over and done with, although I will miss the unlimited supply of shapes (the biscuits) that are at Haileybury.
No commentsnow wireless
Well as some of you already know my recent house moving has meant that running network cable to connect my computer to the internet is no longer feasible. So on Thursday night I went and purchased a Netgear wireless card for my desktop computer. So after setting it all up on Saturday afternoon I found that I could receive very little wireless signal. So after testing the signal with the laptop I found that I should be getting a strong signal. So basically I concluded that it was the Netgear wireless card that was the problem, so I returned the card back to JB Hi-Fi who gave me a refund (now try and get that on ebay) and then proceeded to give me a discount on the D-Link card which made it roughly the same price as the Netgear one. So the D-Link card is working very well (with an “Excellent” wireless signal) and I strongly discourage anyone from buying a Netgear product (look them up on the internet, they have nothing but bad reviews, especially the product I purchased) and I would certainly encourage people to shop at JB Hi-Fi who have been nothing but understanding and helpful through this whole ordeal and it is their service (particularly when their is a problem) that makes me shop at their store rather than saving a few dollars by going on eBay (which in this case would have cost me money).
No commentsvery busy today
Today was surprisingly busy with the whole moving and all. I also had to head down to work to sort out shifts etc, but at least it’s all sorted. After running back and forwards and driving all over the place I went out for the monthly dinner with, well the people that turn up every month (I have no control over these things). So anyway that was relatively exciting. Apart from that not much has been happening, except of course the fact that the Year 12 magazine is finally printed and ready to be posted (about time!!!).
No commentschildren of the black skirt
Well tonight I went and saw the Haileybury Year 10 play. I was actually pretty impressed with the acting and overall how the play was presented. Children of the Black Skirt is a very dark play about an orphanage and the children who once were in it. The technical aspect of the show was “acceptable”, with no major mistakes being made. Overall it was certainly worth the $5 for the ticket and I look forward to seeing some of the Year 10 actors in future performances.
No commentswell i got the job
Well I officially got the jobs at Safeway Liquor, which will provide a much needed boost in income. So pretty much I have induction tomorrow and then some more training next week. I was suprised when they said “so can you can come to induction tomorrow at 8:00am” at about 4:30 this afternoon, luckily I am free meaning I will paid as early as Wednesday.
No commentsthe beginning of autumn
Well Summer has officially ended and we move into Autumn on our long journey to, well, Summer again. It’s also the first day of March (already!!), soon we will be preparing for Christmas again.
On less weather orientated news, the Year 12 Magazine was sent to the printers yesterday marking the beginning of the end of this project. I can’t wait until the day those magazines are sent out and I wont have to worry about any of it ever again.
Also to those people attempting to leave comments about my Kid Nation post earlier this week don’t even bother if they are derogatory toward the contestant Taylor DuPriest since I will simply delete them and if I’m in the mood ban your IP address.
