cheque, savings or credit?
There was once a time in my life where my parents would pay for anything I needed; clothing, food, entertainment; everything. However recently there has been an alarming trend, my parents pay for less, yet I require more. There are certain things that you never really think about until you receive the bill for them, for example car insurance, car registration, car repairs, gas (for the car), and sometimes even car parking (picking up a trend?). Add this all together with things like alcohol (admittedly a non-essential but still important), Uni textbooks (seriously, $90 for a 75 page book, someones having a laugh at my expense) and after all this your once healthy account balance is not so healthy and your left wondering whether you will have enough money in the account to pay for the account service fee (which if there isn’t you ironically get charged another excessive fee because the bank had to borrow money off itself to give to itself). So is there an easy solution to this problem? well of course there is, get a job (one that is more than 1 day a week that is) which is something that is being worked upon as we, well I, speak.

Get a job at a Video Ezy, the customers are really friendly there, they treat you with respect. You also get to rent free movies!
stop trying to palm your problems off on me. I know well the tyranny of Video Ezy
Matt, I sit in exactly the same boat as you buddy. While my bank account sat with a hefty few thousand dollars one year ago, it now has a measly one…
I have a job, with excellent pay, though they don’t actually provide me with any work. No work, no pay… Damn…
Luckily, Uni fees were a quarter of what I was expecting, so that takes a load off, though I haven’t actually seen any from of book list to know how much I’ll be paying. I know that if the book prices are high, I’ll just borrow the book from the library, scan the pages, and return it. Don’t lecture me about it… Hopefully all my books come in an electronic version anyway, much easier to carry one notebook then sixteen books.
Now I feel like I’m rambling just cause I can, so lets keep going.
Applying for more work, anywhere really, just need to get something that pays more often than two hours, every month… I’m thinking of applying to places I’d hate to work at, swiping check-out items for example. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I’m a person that has to be mentally stimulated and challenged if I’m going to stay in one place for more than five minutes… Also, luckily, those are the jobs that get paid more.
Though I’ve also been helping odd friends do this and that. For example I’m working this Wednesday moving boxes. Yes, there’s no stimulation in moving boxes, but the pay is $20/hr, cash (I happened to set the price, by accident, I would have gone for $50/hr if I’d known that…). So the $100 I’ll make from that will pay off the car service I had done last week… Still back at square one…
And oh shit, got presents to buy too… A couple of birthdays, Valentine’s day, Anniversary’s and simple gifts just cause I like to see people smile… Maybe I should just make my own cards…
And maybe I should have just turned this into a post on my own blog?? Hmmm….
