found alive and well
My brothers dog; Zeya, has been found alive and well. We went down to Narre Warren to pick her up from a family that has taken care of her for the past few days. Zeya has come back perfectly healthy (albeit thinner) and is bouncing around as usual, giving the cat a hard time (he was glad she was missing). Thanks to Bruce & Joan for taking excellent care of Zeya, it is greatly appreciated. Also thanks to http://www.lostdogs.com.au/
2 commentsthat’s it for the tour, any questions?
School Tours have to be the most exciting time of year. It’s where I get to walk prospective parents around the school and explain the benefits that our school offers over other schools. Luckily for us most of the parents are looking at sending their children to Newlands so I had to explain countless times how to get to Newlands (just follow the road past the pool). But of course we still get the parents who want to look at the senior precinct and it is the Prefects job to show them around. All in all it was a fairly easy day, and I spent most of the time talking to Mr. Berry and other staff. After my tour of duty I went and had lunch at Caulfield, and caught up with some people, I got home to find out that my sister and her friend had been caught throwing rocks at a bus (she’s only in grade 5) which made my day just that little bit more exciting. Her friend (Paul) was the one that threw the rock that broke the buses window so he’ll have to pay the $1000 to fix it. Also my brothers dog went missing, you can see pictures of her in my gallery (she’s the fluffy white dog). In other news Tim (my brother) moved up to Sydney today for his new job (it’s with the same company) so that was rather exciting and sad (he had to leave without his dog). So all in all I’ve had a very interesting weekend.
1 commentand i quote
I have often been fascinated by quotes, and have concluded that some very smart people have said some very smart things. So I decided to add a quote to my sidebar which will be changed from time to time, and an entire page of quotes, with some occasionally being added. The quotes in my page are some of my favourites, and no doubt as I read of hear of some good ones I will add them too.
3 commentsan inconvenient truth
It was Luke and Belly that got me onto this whole idea of global warming (they both complained about the Aikman Hall lights being on all day) so I decided to watch the rest of An Inconvenient Truth, after watching the start of it in National Politics. For those of you not in the loop, it’s a movie about climate change by Al Gore who is the former Vice-President of the United States. I urge you all to see it and then of course make up your own minds. I also managed to see a movie called Red Dust which is about the Truth and Reconcilliation Hearings in South Africa, it is a rather good movie (even if the acting isn’t great) but for those non-political savvy blog readers of mine then it’s probably not the movie for you. To learn more about Al Gore’s movie An Incovenient Truth visit www.climatecrisis.net
No commentsan outcome or two
Today was the dreaded National Politics outcome which proved to be rather easy, however the fun didn’t end today. Tomorrow I have (as well as most of the year 12 cohort) an English outcome on Citizen Kane, this outcome I’m not looking forward to as I seem really badly underprepared. In other news my life seems to be taken up by school, school and more school, however by the end of next week everything should be over with for another couple of months.
1 commentone day in 1892
Well tonight was the annual Founders Day Cocktail Party, which was better than what I thought. I managed to catch up with each head of precinct as well as talk to some Old Boys and some staff which was good. As with any school event, their were quite a number of staff whom we moderately intoxicated and whom insisted on talking to me for as long as possible. A quick mention must go to Luke Hawley and Liam Burns, whom were described as “those weird ones” by a member of the school council and also Bosko whom was described as “that awkward kid”.
3 commentsb digital
After finally cracking the shits with Optus for the second and hopefully final time, I changed my mobile to B Digital (SOUL), whom use the Optus network, which means I get the benefit of the Optus Network reception and things like Optus Zoo, without actually having to be with Optus. It now cost me 9c per 30 sec (18c min), with sms being the standard 25c and flagfall 25c. Their prices are not as good as Virgin’s but the credit last for 60 days and you can buy vouchers from stores (rather than relying on the internet for Virgins Beancounter rates).
leadership camp
Well this weekend was the annual Haileybury leadership camp, it was held at camp Manyung in Mount Eliza. The camp was better than I expected (truth be told I didn’t have very high expectations at all), but I could still think of like three hundred better things to do on my weekend (sleep is definately one). The whole point of this camp is to make us better leaders or something, but the only things I can remember from the camp are going down to the beach today and eating donuts and these really awesome chocolate muffins. Also the cabins were awesome, much better than any other of the camps I’ve been on. A special mention has to go to Kogulan who apparently can get sunburn (Thats one thing I learnt on the camp), and Bosko who didnt mention the iPhone once, and I almost forgot to mention Mr. Berry who took like half a memory card worth of photos of Jason Perri.
1 commenta new month, and an invite
Well it’s the first of February which means that it is the last month of summer. Anywho today was the first combined assembly which was rather boring and also I spent most of the day either going to meetings, or organising meetings which is not exciting. When I got home I found a letter from Haileybury to me, inviting me to the Founders Day Cocktail party which is one of those fancy Haileybury events where I get to stand around for hours talking to staff who will spend most of their year being assholes to me.
