meetings and confiscated keys

January 31st, 2007 | Category: Aikman Hall, Drama, School, Technical

Well today was slightly more exciting than the past few days. Firstly in the morning the marshal questioned me about missing class yesterday, despite the fact I was in class. I then heard Luke bitch about how a certain member of staff lets call him Mr. ‘owler’ confiscated his keys, and then had a meeting with Mr. Scott which went alright but he was pissed off about something. I then spent the rest of the day sending emails to heads of precinct and other slightly less important people.

miniature earth

January 29th, 2007 | Category: Internet

Miniature EarthI was on Whirlpool when I saw this link, I definately recommend you have a look as it has some pretty eye opening statistics. It basically breaks down the worlds population into 100 people, and gives statistics such as 61 people would be Asian, 12 would be European etc. Anyway hopefully you watch it and take something away from it. The full address is http://www.miniature-earth.com/

back to school

January 29th, 2007 | Category: Drama, Editorial, School

Well today was the first day back at school, it was rather uneventful however my entire week is now gone thanks to meetings, meetings and more meetings. Tomorrow there is the girl’s leadership induction as well as an assembly which I’m sure will be exciting!!!! Also the school magazine came out today, and even though I had already seen it, I was rather disappointed, so we will be having an editorial meeting some time over the next few weeks to see where we went wrong.

a busy week

January 27th, 2007 | Category: Blog, Family, Friends, Home, School, Work

Sorry about the lack of posts this week but it has been really busy, with work taking up most of my time. I managed to visit my new cousin, Elizabeth on Friday before work, and then after work I headed to Perri’s for his 18th which was awesome (I saw Derrick Ha drink beer!!!). Today I went and got some new pants and shirts for school, I couldn’t believe how busy the uniform shop was. I’ve uploaded some photos of Elizabeth into the gallery, and there are more on Flickr in case your interested. Anyway hopefully I will see most of you at school on Monday.

the last week

January 22nd, 2007 | Category: Blog, Home, School, Work

It seems the start of school is on the horizon. Unfortunately at the end of last year I seemed to put everything off until the start of this year, which I’m now really regretting. Not much happened over the weekend which was a welcome relief, however this week I have a few things to do.

Also there is now a Profile page on my blog, and I’ve added a lot more pictures to my Gallery, which now contains about a quarter of the photos that are on my Flickr account. I also fixed the screenshots on the About page, so that they now display properly. I promise I will add more things to my blog, however at the moment I’m really short on time.

a new era

January 18th, 2007 | Category: Blog, Home

Well as you probably already noticed, it’s a new blog, a new address and a whole new blog service provider. The reasons for moving across to Wordpress were simple, it offers greater flexibility, more bandwidth for traffic and gives you a more professional blog. I have imported all my previous blog entries across, however unfortunately I have not been able to import comments.

There are some new features to this blog that weren’t here before so here’s a rundown.

* Theres now an ‘About’ page, giving a brief history of the blog

* There is also a ‘Gallery’ page, at the moment it merely links to my Flickr account, but the blog will soon host its own images.

* A Calendar in the sidebar

* Snap previewing, which enable you to preview links before clicking on them

I will hopefully be including some new features over the coming week including a fully working gallery, as well as user registration etc. Anyway I hope you like the new site design, I know I do!

some great news and a very hectic two days

January 17th, 2007 | Category: Family, Holidays, Home, Optus, Work

Well it’s been a very hectic two days, for my non Victorian, non-Australian readers the temperature has barely got below 35 Degrees (C) in the past two days and only this afternoon has it dipped below thirty. These two days of hot weather have been accompanied by power blackouts, caused by a bushfire in the north east of the state taking out a major transmission line between Victorian and New South Wales. Luckily we were only partially affected by this brownout and lost power for about an hour.

In other news, my Auntie gave birth to a baby girl yesterday, the babies name is Elizabeth Rainsford. I was planning to visit them on Friday however I have been called into work so I will probably have to go next week or on the weekend.

I’m also still waiting for a phone call from Optus, whom were meant to ring me back within 24 hours, however as long as the problem gets fixed I’m not too fussed about the phone call.

optus finally see the light

January 15th, 2007 | Category: Home, Optus, Technical

For those of you that are Optus customers, you would know and agree with me that their Optus Zoo sucks. Well today I found out something that has almost convinced me to stay with Optus as a mobile phone carrier, it’s called myZoo. It’s still in the beta stage, but I was made aware of it by an Optus technician whom I was on the phone to for about an hour today trying to fix yet another Optus Zoo related problem.

It looks pretty good, however the mobile account parts (the current Optus Zoo) are not available yet (the links redirect you to the old Optus Zoo). It is a lot like the Ninemsn homepage in terms of the customizable content etc, however Optus have added there own little flair to it. Heres a link to it so you can check it out for yourself http://www.beta.optuszoo.com.au/

an early start

January 14th, 2007 | Category: Family, Holidays, Home, Technical

Today I went down to Western Port bay fishing, which was rather good (and early). I ended up catching about 6 fish which I was pleased with. In other news thank god its Sunday, this week has been extremely hectic with a combination of work, family and friends, so now hopefully I can at least have most of this week off to do nothing. Also if anyone else tells me how great the new iPhone is going to be and that it is revolutionary I will end up hitting them.
