myki

Category: Connex, Home, Transport

The new public transport smart card has been unveiled and will be called Myki (pronounced My Key). So what does this mean for me, well I have no idea as information on the smartcard is limited, however one concern I have is how it will affect my student pass (I currently receive unlimited travel in Melbourne for $400 a year)

For more info go to www.myki.com.au or en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myki

Hey, the myki smartcard will not (at launch) change the current zoning system. You can transfer anything that you have already purchased (student passes, periodical metcards) onto myki so that you can use them until they expire.

There is currently no plan to alter the way that tickets are sold on metropolitan services. Student Passes will still be availiable
